Leeds Festival

Hello chickens! Long time, no speak. However, I haven't abandoned my blog or forgot all about you! Life has suddenly pre-occupied me with thoughts of preparations for college (studying Fashion & Business Marketing starting Septemeber) and my second trip away to Leeds Festival! I had the most amazing long weekend and would reccomend it to any of you who get the chance to go. I have more or less recovered now, minus my voice, phone and money, plus a new found love for kasabian and lovely memories of the last summer with my friends before uni.

Rather awful photo of me and my lovely friend Drew at Leeds Festival. [Wearing: vintage shirt, borrowed necklace, H&M gold hoop earings]

I would like to thank all of you for leaving such wonderful comments and following me. I shall get quickly up to date with you all, it very much helped clear the festival blues. I love having a blog and starting small doesn't seem all too bad when you are all so lush!

AGYNESS DEYN FOR DR. MARTENS

Oh my just when I thought this woman couldn't get any more cool, she goes and brings out her own collection of our all time favourite shoe the Dr. Marten.

I bought my first pair of Dr. Marten's aged 12, going through my 'goth' stage I went for a metallic purple shimmer boot. Luckily my shoe size hasn't changed since then. Previous to this, my only experience of the brand was stomping round in my dad's size 11's at the age of 8 and admiring grainy photographs of my mam with her polished ox blood's and 80's punk scene mohawk. Overall, Dr.Marten is a brand of shoe for the population for generations and now for fashionista's, as Agyness pinpoints the importance of induviduality.

"Agyness has taken inspiration from her own induviduality along side popular culture including media sources and style. Agyness worked closely with the Dr. Martens creative team, designing pieces that merge a grunge aesthetic with modern styling, quality prints, and bright colour pops.

Consumers are encouraged to wear the items in their own individual way, depending on their mood and how they want to look. Each piece, whether a checked shirt or lace-trimmed dress, can be worn dressed up or down, working as separates or combined together for a sexy tomboy look."- Dr Marten Website

My personal favourite had to be the red velvet creeper, could you get a better winter shoe? Thanks Aggy!(£130)

Check the collection out for yourself now!- It's launched!- http://store.drmartens.co.uk/c-275-footwear.aspx

Autumn/Winter Fashion

The pre-season change, the end of England's so called 'summer' and always my favourite. Flicking through the latest ELLE magaine I wasn't dissapointed. I feel like high end fashion outrules all, I'll never be able to afford it but I bloody wish I could.

However we're blessed with our great UK high-street stores which offer us a little insight of the luxury we wish we could afford with their similarites and replica's.
The main in trends include:

Embelishment

The rule is beads, gems, sparkles, sequins and studs. The more the better! However I find with these sort of busy, full on items it's best to pair them off with something plain. Let's not end up looking like a crimbo tree eh?

The A-Line Skirt

Lets get in our tardis one more time and travel back to the early 60's/70's and get on our a-lines! Personally, I don't think they're flattering for my figure (rather chunky thighs, no curves, just chub-fab I know) but in all seriousness think they would work for almost all figures! HEY HO sometimes you just have to accept a trend is not for you.

£12.99 from H&M, what a lovely colour as well!

The Gentleman's coat/shirt/everything

Right, so here's my plan the boy/girl trend is right back in and boy how I love it! Love that whole Alexa Chung vibe! This season they're really pushing the boat out and I'm loving it even more. 70's print shirts, ties, boxy shaped coats (must have!), loafers, bowler hats- you name it!

I know this look is a bit marmite, yet I love marmite AND love this look! Here's some I purchased today from old and faithful H&M, reminding me a little of those above (grab yourself a pair whilst you can!). Shall do an outfit of the day as soon as i wear these, that's a promise.

Multicolour Rainbow Fantastic Hair

A look I (boring brown hair) wish I had the guts to embrace! Pastel's in hair colour is so in right now! I'm personally loving the lilac's, silver's and mint greens. Would I ever suit it? and if so what colour!?

Love and kisses x

Brief Introduction

I'm Alice, I'm seventeen and I live near the seaside.

I've been waiting to start a blog for a while now however have never felt I have an area of expertise to go into depth about. Today I realised that my area of expertise was what I as an induvidual am interested in. It would be no fun if all blogs we're the same. So here I am typing out my first blog post at exactly 1:25 in the morning, hoping with every minute I am becoming increasingly more like Carrie Bradshaw.

What you can expect from my blog:
  • Little thoughts and feelings
  • Vintage/Charity Shop finds (always the best)
  • High Street Hauls
  • OOTD's
  • OOTN's
  • Bit's of my life I think you'd enjoy
  • Lots of photographs
  • Crafty stuff
